Scalar field

Let (𝑀,𝒜) be a 𝐶𝛼-manifold. A scalar field or 0-form 𝑓 is just a function 𝑓 ∈𝐶𝛼(𝑀), diff i.e. a 𝐶𝛼-differentiable function from 𝑀 to ℝ.
